Army Chief General Bipin Rawat in a press conference on Friday said spoke over the invasions of Indian land by Chinese troops. He said China may be strong but we are not a weak nation and will thwart China invasion. Speaking about the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats by China, the army general said “it is becoming a reality.”
We cannot let neighbouring countries to drift away towards China. It is time India shift its focus to the northern border and reiterated armed forces delegated there are capable of handling Chinese troops advances in the region. If CBRN weapons were used there would be a lot of life and property damage.
He reacted in a positive note about pressure from Chinese government, he said had it comes down to that the troops are ready. “We are continuously manning the border. We will not allow our territory to be invaded. Troops are earmarked, should a situation arise we are ready to cater,” General Rawat said.
He said there is an encouragement to Army personnel posted in Sikkim, along the north-eastern border, the government sanctioned stylised bullet-proof helmets and jackets. This is not an indication of war, we saw that Chinese troops were very well equipped so we felt an imminent need to send better quality equipment for our soldier. That shows we are well prepared.”
In 2017 we flushed out terrorists in South Kashmir. This year we will shift out focus to North Kashmir’s Baramulla, Pattan, Handwara, Kupwara, Sopore, Lolab valley and some northern areas of Bandipore.
