Floods hit the Indian states Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, and Orissa. Armed forces were in action rescuing the victims and shifting them to safe locations. Thousands were left homeless and floods have also affected normal life in these states.
PM Narendra Modi has taken an aerial survey and is constantly in meetings with top officials of each state to take stock of the situation. The result is the intensified rescue and relief operations by IAF, NDRF, and local teams.
In Gujarat above 1,000 people were rescued and 46,000 people shifted to safe location said Nitin Patel, CM Gujarat.
In Rajasthan Jalore, Sirohi and Pali districts are the flood hit regions. “Rescue operations resumed today in Jalore. Food packets and water bottles are being dispatched for villages, said Hemant Gera, secretary-Disaster Management, and Relief Department. Same efforts are in full swing in flood hit districts like Sirohi and Pali by armed forces”, said the officials.
