Yet another incident involving superstition made headlines today, with TRS MLA Challa Dharma Reddy’s daughter Manasa duped of Rs 57 lakh in the name of Graha Dosham pujas by some koya pujaris.
Sources said that the pujaris viz., Pastam Narasimha Raju and Vamshi from Karimabad met Manasa and persuaded her to perform some pujas to help her father become a minister. The pujaris even went on to assure Manasa that even she could become an MLA if she performed the pujas.
It has been reported that the Koya pujaris kept on collecting huge amounts from Manasa in the name of performing pujas, at regular intervals over a one year period. Thus, deceiving Manasa for a collective sum of Rs 57 lakh!
With the pujas giving no results, Manasa has finally informed her family about the loss. Her father-in-law Shamreddy Balreddy filed a complaint on the pujaris and the Police are investigating into the case.
On the other hand, Dharmareddy reiterated that his daughter performed all the pujas for his good health and the well-being of his family and not for his elevation to the rank of a minister.
Further, to bring awareness among the public the MLA advised not to believe such superstitions. He also asserted that one must get the advice of elderly people before believing or performing such pujas.
