Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Saturday announced new pattadar passbooks will be issued to farmers across the state on March 11. He said either The President of India or Prime Minister would be invited for the programme. TS government conducted a huge land record purification exercise which was first of its kind in the entire country, had now total information pertaining to the land holdings of the different categories at hand. These details will be made public through a website named ‘Dharani’. The website holds complete information on land records.
The Chief Minister KCR had been reviewing the progress on the land purification drive. He added that a transparent and effective land registration system would come into place soon in the State. The new system will take effect on March 11. He deployed senior IAS officials as Commissioner of Stamps and Registrations to make Revenue Department and Department of Registrations work in tandem.
KCR said the programme will be launched in two phases. After successful completion of phase-I in rural areas, phase-II will roll out sorting out land litigation pending cases in courts. Under phase-I exercise, the government identified over 90 per cent of the land holdings with legitimate owners. Some policy decisions are to be taken for a phase-II drive and the government would take a decision at the next Cabinet meeting.
Speaking about ‘Dharani’ KCR said the website will have the complete details. A special IT team will be monitoring the website. He said any name changes will be updated in the title deed making no way to err.
