Ace Tollywood director Puri Jagannadh had finally responded to the Tollywood drugs case, which also involved his name. Puri clarified that he had not released any letter on his involvement in ‘drugs scandal’, as claimed by some media groups. He further requested media to stop sensationalizing news, without understanding the authenticity of the allegations.
Responding on his official Twitter handle, director Puri Jagannadh said, “I haven’t released any kind of public statement or commented on others in connection with the drugs case. I am currently busy shooting for my upcoming movie ‘Paisa Vasool’. Media should stop telecasting unauthentic news”.
Earlier, a letter circulated in the Telugu media, which was claimed to be from director Puri Jagannadh. The letter further revealed names of a few individuals, while reiterating Puri’s innocence.
On the other hand, the SIT which has been looking into the Tollywood Drugs scandal case has served notices to all the alleged twelve actors. However, there is still an uncertainty over the notices being received by the actors, as some of the alleged actors accused media of wrongly publishing their names despite them not served any kind of notices by the Excise department.
Excise department made it clear that they have served notices to all the twelve suspects while adding that a few of them refused to accept the notices. As per the notice, all the actors who have been served notices must attend before the SIT within a week to clarify on their involvement.
Director Puri Jagannadh had already confirmed that he would cooperate with the SIT as required. So there is no need of any public trial on this issue, as we have to respect the individual privacy.
