NEW DELHI: In a bid to bring national importance to the Drug mafia issue in Telangana, YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy addressed the issue in the ongoing parliamentary session on Wednesday.
Mr. Vijay Sai Reddy noted that the narcotic drugs have become commonly available in the states of Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the recent times, owing to the failure of the government to control drug traffickers. He further added that the law enforcing agencies, who are responsible for cracking down such activities are failing miserably at the end.
“We do not even want our children to get near to these narcotic drugs. Unfortunately, they are widespread especially in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. And the worst thing is, even the school going children are being targeted and they are becoming victims of drug mafia”, Mr. Reddy said giving reference to the recent developments in Telangana.
“Recently a Special investigation team has unearthed a massive drug racket in Hyderabad, which involved film stars, business men, and school going children too. I request that the central government takes necessary steps and work in coordination with the states to control the drug menace. Children are the future of this country and we should not compromise on things which affect their overall development”, he added.
Earlier, the Telangana Chief Minister issued concrete guidelines to the investigation teams to not spare anyone involved in the drug case, no matter however big he or she may be.
